Are your customers outgrowing your business (and leaving you behind)?
There is an old saying that if a business isn’t growing it’s dying. I believe this to be true. There are many ways to measure growth, it’s not always just about turnover. It can be about expertise, technology, skills and capability. When dealing in the business to business space, every small business needs to be growing otherwise their customers may be outgrowing them.
I have certainly experienced this in the past, when I have worked with a medium size business that underwent a rapid growth spurt, increasing annual revenue from $35 million to $150 million in two very short years. As a small business supplying marketing services to this company, it became very clear that as my client grew, my business needed to grow with them. NEED SOME FUNNY BUSINESS TO GET YOU THROUGH THE WEEK?
Let’s be honest, we all need a good laugh during the course of doing business on a day to day basis. And that is exactly what Tim Reid and aim to do on our monthly podcast show “Funny Business” which is of course, part of the wildly successful Small Business Big Marketing show. Now, for this edition of Funny Business, Tim made a special trip to Cairns to record it live (well he was actually coming here anyway but hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good story). As always, this episode has the perfect balance of Dad jokes, business advice, shocking revelations and corny sound effects. Our big topic of discussion (apart from loud shirts) is productivity.
If you need a laugh, take some time out of your crazy schedule and get yourself some Funny Business. Just click on the link below:
THE CBS/TELSTRA “DOING BUSINESS BETTER” SMALL BUSINESS PANEL SERIES
Last month I hosted a panel series for CBS and Telstra which was themed ‘Doing Business Better’ – specifically focusing on small business. I was joined by four wonderful panelists – Lisa Conway, Peter Ziggy, Bob Greenup and Troy Eggins. Here is a link to the recordings from each session. They are just over 10 minutes each, and they cover some of the hard hitting business topics including understanding business resilience, is technology helping or hindering, is the customer really king and what does working smarter really mean? Just click on the image below to watch the videos.
