We all need to know what to do to get our Mojo back

We all need to know what to do to get our mojo back.

A point I often make during my presentations is that business success or failure generally happens in our mind. Without the right attitude you will struggle to survive and sadly I have seen many businesses fall over because the owners lost their passion and their drive.

We all struggle at times. We get fed up, frustrated, tired and generally grumpy with our business. But the secret is to keep working on our attitude and to work on it once a day at least. We understand that to lose excess weight we have to exercise and go to the gym at least several times a week. So why is it any different when we need to get out attitude into shape?

Personally I read a lot of motivational type books, I listen to webinars, CD’s etc and I research success stories. People often ask me why I do all of this stuff when I am clearly already such a motivated person. My response is simple – doing all of these things is what keeps me motivated. I am human, I get down in the dumps, I feel flat and sometimes I struggle. But the difference is that I have learnt how to change my attitude and to give myself a shot in the arm and a mental boost by reading, listening or talking to people who help me get excited about my business and my life.

So my advice in this BULLET is twofold. First and foremost you have to figure out what kind of things fire you up. What makes you get excited and enthused about life and your business? Is there someone or something that pulls you out of the darker more challenging moods that we all face? Find your thing and then use it as often as you can. I have friends who have huge posters all over the walls of their office with motivational slogans and quotes – every Monday morning they spend an hour ripping down the old ones and putting up this weeks key messages. Some people listen to a power CD first thing in the morning to get the blood pumping, others exercise and use the time to think about their business and the day or the week ahead.

Sometimes what we really need though is a good break. A day doing nothing but the stuff we love to do. Sounds wonderful doesn’t it? Recharging the batteries is essential to having an impressive attitude. It is all part of getting to understand yourself as an entrepreneur. Work this out and you will have loads more fun and your business will be much more successful. Good luck!
