I love reading business and personal development books. I read a lot of them, but I want to read a lot more. My current pile of “books waiting to be read” stands at about 100, so clearly I need to find more time to read or find a new system.
About a month ago I came across the Philosopher’s Notes. A book summary site with a difference. For starters you pay what you think is fair. I love that. The summaries are provided in 20 minute MP3 files so you can download and listen in on your ipod, in your car of anywhere else that takes your fancy.
But what I really love about the Philospher’s Notes is the quality and quantity of the books reviewed. A great mix of the classics as well as the contemporary with close to 200 books reviewed. And I really like Brian Johnson’s review style. In a 20 minute mp3 I get the main points of each book, summarised in a succinct way along with smart interpretation of the key points.
I listen to the summaries, and any book that really resonates I buy. So far I have listened to about 75 books in the past month. You have to love that.
