I heard a statement recently that really resonated with me. I was talking to an Indian entrepreneur and we were speaking about creating the right rituals for success. He made a great comment about starting your day off in a positive way, specifically he believed that it was vitally important to build the right foundations for the day ahead. If we build our day on solid foundations, everything runs more smoothly, we feel more positive and we make more money.
As simple as this may sound, I believe this to be profoundly true. How often do we leap out of bed, gulp down some coffee, jump in the shower, race to our business and spend the rest of the day responding to the demands of others? We never feel really in control, in fact often it is barely controlled mayhem.
If we can make the time to build our foundations before we start making calls, checking emails, interacting with customers and whatever else we have to do, we feel much more in control of our day. We get a chance to get our head into the right space and we can pick our attitude and make it the right attitude.
My advice is to make the time every morning to build the right foundations for your day ahead. What have you got to lose by trying?

Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Yep – “Build your day on the right foundations” is a great tip.
I have been a fan of having at least 15 mins of quiet time at the start of the day for a while now and it really helps me to gain clarity about my outcomes for the day and set the mood I want to have for the day.
Appreciate your Bullets đŸ™‚
Cheers, Jo

Thanks Jo,
Always good to hear from you and thanks for the positive reinforcement of this concept. Quiet time is good time, especially at the beginning of the day.
Cheers,

Hi Andrew,
I find that a bit of quiet time at the end of the day as well is a powerful thing too – so I can set things up for the next day and then leave the work arena and transition to the “not-work” arena (especially when I am working from home).
Cheers, Jo
