Here’s a fun but serious question. Do you have enough customers? I know it’s an obvious question, but let’s go a little deeper.
If you do have enough customers, do you like them? Do they pay you enough? Are you getting what you’re actually worth?
Because, it seems to me, far too many Small Businesses and service-based businesses in particular are great at what they do… and they work extremely hard for their clients… but not for themselves.
Or… worse still…
Without solid client acquisitions strategies in play, they don’t get to choose who they take on as clients, and end up stuck working for a few super-demanding customers, people who want fine Champagne service on a dirty beer budget.
My good buddy, David Hobson (ex elance and ODesk) spends a lot of time tackling this exact issue, which is why I’m delighted to share a report he has developed:
“Client Acquisition Reloaded: Five big picture, no brainer strategies to help service-based businesses get more clients”.
It tackles topics like…
#1 MORE CLIENTS THROUGH INFLUENCE
#2 MORE CLIENTS THROUGH YOUR NETWORK
#3 MORE CLIENTS THROUGH SOCIAL PROOF
#4 MORE CLIENTS THROUGH LEVERAGE
#5: MORE CLIENTS THROUGH SIMPLICITY
In short, it’s a wake-up call to all business owners and business development professionals. It will challenge your assumptions while also offering some no-brainer advice.
But, it’s a draft. So, Dave and I would love your thoughts. Now you know I don’t send out information like this unless I think it will be of real value to you – and this is one report that I think certainly fits the bill.
In what ways are you re-loading your client acquisition strategies? What’s working for you?
Seriously. Give it a read, then hit ‘Reply’.
Cheers,
Andrew
